Everybody Talks
Friday, April 6, 2012 @ 6:00 PM | 0 Comment [s]

Everybody talks. That's the title of Neon Trees latest single. I don't know what the songs's about because I've only listened to it once, but hey, it's true! But i'm not going to go into that today. Instead, here's another update!

First... I got new earphones!!!

Awesome right? They're an early birthday present from my parents :))) They even have a "remote control" thingamajid (it's actually just a headset button, like the mic area) which I can press to play, pause forward skip, etc, songs! Awesomeness. And they're like, hot. I mean, hello, can anyone possibly tell me that red is not a hot colour? They also got me a new bag which is SO ULTRA SLIM when I put stuff into it. I think I'm in looove. Unfortunately, I can't take a photo of my bag in a way that makes it look nice and slim like it really is, so there's none here. It looks pretty ordinary though. It's just a black Kappa bag. Nothing fancy. :P

Anyway, we had our Guides Graduation Ceremony/ Celebration two days ago, on the 5th of April. BOOHOO. :( Seeing my juniors cry, I nearly cried too- can you believe it? I rarely cry because of touching stuff :O Here's a pic:

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THEM ALL? I SURE DO!

Anyway, what's a graduation without any camwhoring? Here are the photos we took, though there aren't many because
there wasn't really much time. :(

As you can see, they're wayyy too bimbotic to be uploaded on Facebook since we're in our Guides uniform. Hehhehh.
But wait- there's more! This won't be the last time we're wearing our full-u, because next Friday, we'll be back for a
combined buffet with all four UGs (not to mention, four times the food!) and the attire? Full-u of course. AWESOME. NPCC
and NCC will also be passing out on that day so look out for an update!

Oh and did I mention? I painted my nails orange. Like Halloween orange, so they look awesome now. Actually, they can
be kinda creepy, but who cares? It's great to have bright nails! Yeah baby.

Toodles~

TO ALL THE NAS GIRL GUIDES OUT THERE- I LOVE YOU!

Let it pour... When I sleep.

Hey y'all!

So... Heavy rain today eh? The sky was RED this morning when I woke up! Craaazy. But finally, we have some overdue rain here in sunny -not to mention, HOT- Singapore! What's not so awesome? The school decided that it would be a good idea to save electricity by NOT switching on our air-con after recess because of the cold weather. I mean, COME ON- we've been deprived for almost two months- GIVE US OUR AIR-CON! Grrr! I rather use a jacket and suffer the cold than have no air-con.  Then again... maybe not? Oh well, at least we contributed to saving Mother Earth yeah?

Anyhoo, I promised an update, so here goes!

Hmm... Well there was Musique La Joie, the 4R6 concert to which tickets were sold at $5 for there Service Learning Project. That was a totally brilliant idea! Wish we had thought of that. The concert had lots of random people (random as in students I don't know. Scratch that- I do know a lot of them. By sight only though...) performing, doing their bit for charity.

The ticket!

The best performance (to me at least)? John, YongQi and Caleb's. They did an ACAPELLA version of Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls, throwing in a little of Cee Lo Green's Forget You as well as the rap portion of Justin Bieber's Baby, the last two songs being something they added in at the very last moment, on the day itself. How cool is that?! I hate you talented people. :P I totally wish I had recorded that down. Damn!

Oh yeah! YongQi aso made his debut- performing The Script's For the First Time, for the first time, together with John doing the beat on the box thingy and backup vocals. Man, he was so freaking nervous (It was obvious- we all could tell) but for a first timer? It was awesome. I doubt I'll even dare to perform. Like, ever. Again, screw you, all talented people in the world out there. >:(

I also fell in love with a zillion songs, because of all the jaw-dropping, heart-stopping performances. I became (and still am) addicted to songs like Coldplay's Fix You, which I never liked before the concert, The Overtones's Gambling Man, homegrown Sezairi Sezali's Broken, Young Money's Bed Rock and Tinie Tempah's Written In the Stars. For the last two songs, the performers (too many to name, but they're ALL amazing and talented people!) even wrote their own rap to suit the occasion! Dafuq!! *Mouth hangs open* Did I mention I hate talented people? Because I do. i'm really, really jealous of you bitches. Ugh. :))

Moving on...

We (as in Guides) ushered for Ngee Ann's founder's Day 2012 once again, as we have been doing for the past 4 years (It's tradition man!) and before that, we were camwhoring like craaazy under void decks (what? The lighting's AWESOME there!) as we walked from XinYing's house to school.

AND MY FAVOURITE ONE,

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE BLACK AND WHITE PICTURES (Glam!!!)? Especially when the lighting's good enough to not make anyone look black LOL.

Okay there's not much to talk about related to Founder's Day (It was anticlimatic. Very boring stuff.)

And then, on Monday... WE WENT TO WATCH THE HUNGER GAMES!!!

AAAHHH!! Awesome shit! And I'm so glad I didn't read the book beforhand, because those who did said they were disappointed. Hah! So there suckerrs! That's what you get for not lending me no book yo! Haha just kiddin! And guess what? Here's the best part- our WHOLE clique came! For once! Yes, that's XinYing, David, JingWen, EeShen, YongQi, Leroy, myself and JANICE and CHENYI!! *SHOCKED FACE* And stupidly, we didn't take any photos (urgh! dammit!)
so there aren't any to post here. :(

Next... DENTIST VISIT!

We went to the dentist! Actually, YanEr met me and I went to the dentist for my monthly braces appointment. But what makes this particular one soo interesting is the fact that that we finally took pictures so I could blog about it (YAY!)! Okay, actually they all kinda failed because both of us suck at taking photos, but hey, whatever floats your boat right? ;) And guess what? WE ATE FRIED ICE CREAM! IKR!! Heaven on earth. It's actually deep-fried (Unhealthy I know I know!) flour covering the ice cream. AWESOMENESS. What else...? Hmm... Huh. That's pretty much all I remember- the food! I'm such a glutton hehheheh. Sorry Yanz, remind me if there's anything important that I should have posted here! xP

When you buy it...

And when you take that first bite...

EEEKK!! <3

Mmmm...

Hungry? ;)

Next... On Friday (30th march), we had our class phototaking, and in those pockets of time when we were waiting, we managed to take a bunch of AWESOME clique photos! Here's the best two:

OMFG LOL

I'll end off here, and may the odd be ever in your favour. (That's a line from The Hunger Games if you don't already know) Imma catch some beauty sleep!

Toodles darlings!

AWESOMENESS

Heeellllooo thereee!

Whee! Okay, these last few weeks have been GREAT, what with so much going out. HELL YEAH. So, I said I'd update y'all on WICKED, the musical that I went to together with XinYing, John and YongQi, held at the Grand Theatre @ Marina Bay Sands.

Here goes:

Firstly, the show was UH-MAZING! Everything, from the set to the actors to the costumes to the music was un-buhlievable. The best part? They had a LIVE band. How much better can you get? The singing and the music together was so fantastic, it couldn't sink into my head that I was watching a LIVE performance. It felt like I was listening to a recording and all the actors were just lip-syncing. Yes, it was that good. Oh, and the costumes- those were GORGEOUS. Here's an example, though these weren't the actors we saw in Singapore:

We got Category C seats, which were really good by the way, they were on the second level, but the FRONT row of the second level so you could see EVERYTHING. Darn worth the $125 we paid! The costumes were really elaborate and whoever designed them must have paid lots of attention to detail (not that I could distinguish any small details from my high position up there), because those costumes were definitely NOT designed by just anybody off the street. No two costumes were the same (Imagine the amount of time and effort gone into tailoring the costumes!) and trust me, there were a heck lot of different costumes that they changed into.

Jemma Rix, who played the lead, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West), had a voice like... Heck, she had an indescribable voice. And when she hit those high notes- I really shivered right there and then. Not from fear, but rather, from AMAZEMENT (I know, I know, I'm weird.). Wow. And Suzie Mathers, who played Glinda the Good Witch- her voice was exactly like those voices you hear when you watch a Barbie movie. High, sickeningly sweet and sugary and did I say high? But it was GOOD. No, it was GREAT.

Quite a good bit of the show had witty humour incorporated into the speech and since I was expecting it to be a serious show, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Elphaba was portrayed as someone with a wry sense of humour, and the jabs of sarcasm she injected into the show really cracked me up. In short, Wicked is jaw-dropping and I guarantee that your eyes will be glued to the stage throughout the whole show. Its storyline is pretty easy to follow, and if you're like me, who went in without a speck of previous knowledge on what the show was about, then you needn't worry, because you sure as hell don't need any previous knowledge to fully enjoy the show. Though, I must say, it would be good to read up on the story of The Wizard of Oz, because then, you will really appreciate Wicked, as you will be able to see the link between things that happen in Wicked and things that happen in The Wizard of Oz.

Anyway, after that, we had a blast taking (GLAM) photos around Marina Bay Sands and wait- did I mention those photos were glam shots? I'm soo going back there just to camwhore soon! We also managed to catch a water/light show (it's kinda hard to describe and I have no photos at all, sorry!) on our way back to the MRT. That was really cool. Sorry for the poor quality, the best camera we had on us was John's iPhone. Dang, someone REALLY has to get a DSLR. Hehheh. ;)

Camwhoring in the toilet as usual. (Oops!)

And the photo with the BEST view...
LOOK AT THE SKYLINE!

So, if you haven't watched Wicked and you've got extra cash to spare, you really should catch this wonderful, show before they stop showing in Singapore! Fantastico!

Toodles~

p.s. I'll post about more stuff soon! I gotta go now!

It Ain't All Chocolate & Marshmallows in La La Land
Tuesday, March 13, 2012 @ 5:48 AM | 0 Comment [s]

Hey there!

Soo... Once again, it's the March holidays! Woohoo!! :)) So here's and update for y'all (who is probably only me cuz I STILL haven't told anyone bout this blog :O)

Hmm... yesterday I went out with the gang (XinYing, Jingwen, YongQi, EeShen& Leroy <3) and Jingwen got her ears pierced! Proud of ya girl! Along with her earlobes, she also pierced her cartillage. Awesome much? Damn I wish my mum would let me get another two piercings on my earlobes. That'll be SO cool. But nooo, she'll probably just throw another hissy fit as she tends to do in the recent weeks. :((

Okay, so some recent stuff that's happened:

Ugh. I feel like I'm talking to myself wth??!! I REALLY SHOULD TELL MORE PEOPLE BOUT THIS BLOG. Once I personalise the design :))))

AND GUESS WHAT FOLKS? I'M GONNA WATCH WICKED ON FRIDAY! I'LL UPDATE Y'ALL ON HOW IT GOES SOON! ;D

It better be good! Considering it cost me $125 for Cat C tickets! ;) And omg, this is pathetic, but it's the first time I've gone to a musical on my own! As in, without family hehhehhheh kekekekeke. ANYWAY...

Love y'all!

The Cool People
Sunday, February 19, 2012 @ 12:23 AM | 0 Comment [s]

OMG!!!! Okay, so guess what? Yesterday 18 February 2012, we celebrated Guides Thinking Day. AND WE GOT TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE FIRST LADY OF SINGAPORE!!!!! OMG!!!! Mrs Mary Tan is soo damn awesome!!!!! Okay, so we Xinying and me actually wanted to take a picture with her bodyguard or assistant or something, because her uniform was just TOO COOL! So the rest of em werent that keen but hey, we stick together right? So everyone came too. So after all the "erms" and "uhhs" I finally asked her and she was all surprised but she said, "Yeah sure" anyway.

Here's the photo:
Isn't her uniform like just so cool?

Anyway, after that, she turned around and asked THE FIRST LADY, who was seated behind where she was standing, if she wanted to TAKE A PHOTO WITH US! OMGGGGG!!!! And the uber gracious first lady agreed. And she talked to us!!! She shook all of our hands (LEFT HAND, MIND YOU! GUIDES ARE AWESOME) and asked what school we were from and asked if we were the seniors. When we said yes, she pointed out two guiders who were in their sixties (I think) and used to be guides at our age too. Her words were (I can't remember exactly but...) "I'd just like to point out those two ladies sitting over there, they used to be Guides at your age too, and even until now, they're still very active in Guiding. I hope you girls can be like that too." And she gave us the sweetest smile!! So we were like smiling and nodding and mentally SCREAMING OUR ASS OFF IN OUR HEADS when we took the photo! And this professional photographer who had been taking photos of the VIPs took it for us with Mrs Chia's camera (THANK GOD MRS CHIA LENT US HER CAMERA TO TAKE PHOTOS WITH), and then again with his own camera. LIKE, WHOA.

HERE'S THE PHOTO:
The First Lady of Singapore and us.

Then later on, after hanging around for a bit, we asked Mrs Joy Balakrishnan, the PRESIDENT OF GIRL GUIDES SINGAPORE if we could take a picture with her and she was like, "Sure" and man, she is exactly what one would describe as elegant and welcoming! There's no other way to describe her! She asked us what school we were from and when we told her, she was like "Oh, you were the girls that spoke to Mrs Tan earlier!" And we were all thinking "OMG SHE REMEMBERED!" Man she's really really nice!

Here's the photo:
Mrs Joy Balakrishnan! She's so elegant!

And OMG what a way to celebrate our last Thinking Day considering as this is our last year in Guides. Wahhh! Omg yesterday was really really memorable! <3

Dream good dreams!

Hey again!

Okay, so you may be wondering why I posted two posts at like, the same time. It's actually cuz I wrote the previous post like AGES ago, just that it was on mobile and I couldn't add in the pics and edit the font size as I wanted.

Anyway... HOW'S THE BLOGSKIN? Nice? Hmm I still gotta edit it and all but there you go! I wanted a full blog, one where you don't have to scroll down the posts, but I couldn't find any that I liked, so oh well. just gonna stick with this for now! Don't kill me if you gotta keep scrolling down yoh!

Soo... I'll try my best to update as much as I can -like once a week or something- but hey, if there's nothing to say, there's nothing to say! Ohoh! I'm (half) watching the 9 o'clock channel 8 drama show now! It's called 995. Seeeems like the action packed type where lots of people die at the end. Huh. Oh well.

So recently, I've been OB-FREAKIN-SSESSED with nails and nail polish so here's like, an AWESOME work of art for y'all to see:

IS THAT CUTE OR WHAT??

Ohkayyy.... ANYWAY, another of my recent obsessions is STARBUCKS. I went to weheartit and downloaded like 50 images of all thing starbucks. Can you say YUM? Woah I swear, it's really really awesome! Since I can't think of much else to say, I'll end off with pictures of Starbucks awesomeness.

IKR! THEY MAKE ICE CREAM? PERFECTION MUCH??

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure I've died and gone to heaven!

I don't drink hot coffee (just iced) but this sure looks good!!!! Makes everyone wanna become a coffee addict eh?

Love this picture for some reason. NOTICE THE NAILS TOO!

Eeeek!! Cuteness overload! You can't NOT love this pic can you?

Ohoh! Okok, I know I said I'll end, but I just remembered- there was this place I went to with YanEr on Saturday, and BOY was it perfect. Simple layout, awesome shakes. Yep, it's called Once Upon A Milkshake. I can't describe it to you. The chairs, the design, EVERYTHING. It's the perfect lil' hideout! Here's a pic of the chocolate milkshake we shared! Sorry for the horrid photo quality! I took it with my iTouch! >.<

Btw, here's their site if you're interested:

CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE CASTLE!! <3

Check it out! You won't regret it, I promise!

Lousy-quote-of-the-day-that-I-made-up-myself: When in doubt, chocolate's ALWAYS the answer.

Hey, lousy but SOO true! Don't hate!

Hello!
@ 5:13 AM | 0 Comment [s]

Heya peops! Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who knows about this (or should I say my) blog cuz I haven't told anyone bout it yet. Hehheh. And besides, blogging's kinda dead so no one asks stuff like "hey what's your blog address?". Instead it's all "hey what's your facebook?" ugh. Facebook shamcebook (eh, what??). But that's for another day. Or another post if you wanna get all technical. *wiggly eyebrows*.

Anyhow, I don't know why I started blogging again. Maybe cuz I wanted a place to just talk crap without people judging me...? Facebook and twitter are overpopulated! Social networks are overrated. Buh. Gee now I sound like some anti social network freak. Which I'm not, btw. :P

Sooo... Cool blog name eh? We Grow Old. Why yes, we do. And dang does it suck! So imma write all about stuff that we do as we grow older and older here. Post by post. I hope y'all don't get bored of visiting!

Anyway, here's a quote by Jacob Black from the book Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer ( And yes, I know i know, I read the twilight series. What? I like vampires. :P).

Here goes:

Life sucks. And then you die.

Huh. Actually, he continued with "I should be so lucky", but since I'm going with the assumption that everyone reading this is human, I didn't add that in cuz it probably don't apply. But you gotta admit, it's a pretty catchy quote eh? ;)

Well... Since this blog IS after all about growing old (not really), I thought that was kinda sorta appropriate for a first post. Okay now y'all are probably gonna think I'm some morbid emo gal (which I'm not), so let's just move on!

Hmm I actually figured that writing in a diary would be WAYY cooler but you try writing about life everyday and see if you don't get blisters!

So that's all for the intro folks! I'll start with the awesome stuff on the next post ya? Hehehe!

Stay hot! ( I decided stay cool was too cliché :O)
